Jay-Z’s new CD is amazing. Track #13, Minority Report, is my favorite song so far. Album is second only to Justin Timberlake’s FutureSex/Love Sounds for 2006.

Now I’m just waiting for Eminem to come out with his new CD on December 5th to see if it can touch either of those two…

Well, it looks like I am going to have to disagree with you. Sam, when I was your age I listened to a lot of Hip-Hop. Except in my day it was Wu-Tang, Nas, and Mobb Deep. I mention this so that way you don’t think I have no room to critique Jay-Z. In fact I think his first album Reasonable Doubt is one of the best Hip-Hop albums of the 90’s. But Kingdom Come is LAZY music made by a thirty-something. It is my firm belief that after 28 you should stop making Hip-Hop music and this album just further solidifies my theory. Hip-Hop is all about finding something old or buried and putting a fresh new spin on it. When you become 30 you fail to put a new spin on things because you are in fact old. The only two good things about this album is the beats by Kanye and Chris Martin. And I am not a fan of either of those guys so that is hard for me to say.

Last two points I will make:
1- I realized during the writing of this post that saying things like “when I was your age” and “in my day” make people sound like dinosaurs.
2- I finally learned what Web 2.0 means
3- Have a great Thanksgiving
